This policy explains how train2secure uses cookies and similar tracking technologies on our platform and website, and how you can manage your preferences.

Effective: 1 January 2025Last updated: 5 April 2026

01What Are Cookies?

Cookies are small text files that are placed on your device (computer, tablet, or mobile phone) when you visit a website or use an application. They allow the site to recognise your device and remember certain information about your visit, such as your login status, preferences, and how you interact with the service.

Similar technologies include:

  • Local storage: Data stored in your browser that persists between sessions.
  • Session storage: Data stored temporarily for the duration of a browser session.
  • Pixels/web beacons: Small image files embedded in web pages or emails used to track interactions.
  • Server logs: Records of your IP address, browser type, and pages visited, kept on our servers.

References to "cookies" in this policy include all of these technologies where relevant.

02Our Legal Basis for Using Cookies

Australia does not have a specific law mandating cookie consent banners (unlike the EU's GDPR and ePrivacy Directive). However, the collection of personal information through cookies is regulated by the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.

We use cookies in accordance with the following principles:

  • Strictly necessary cookies are used without requiring consent, as they are essential for the Service to function.
  • Analytics and functional cookies are used based on your implied consent by using our Service. You may opt out at any time via your browser settings.

Where we process personal information collected through cookies, we do so in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

2. Functional Cookies

These cookies enable enhanced functionality and personalisation. Disabling them may affect how the platform works:

  • UI preference cookies — remember your layout preferences and settings.

  • Notification dismissal cookies — remember which system alerts you have already acknowledged.

  • Feature usage analytics — tracks which platform features are used most frequently to guide product improvements.

4. Payment Provider Cookies

When you make a payment, our payment processor Stripe may set cookies on your device for fraud prevention and payment security purposes. These are governed by Stripe's own privacy policy. We do not control these cookies.
